Cornish-rock chickens can live a long life if their diet is controlled. However, due to their fast growth Cornish-rock crosses begin to develop health problems such as Arthritis after eight weeks old. The chickens were bred specifically to put on a lot of weight in a very short period of time, not for longevity. Their weight is much greater than their frame can support and it is not advisable to keep these birds much longer than 8 weeks.
Most chickens live 7-9 years. It really depends on what kind of strain the chickens come from (show quality, production quality), and how the chickens have been raised, and what type of conditions they live in.
Intensively farmed chickens typically live for around 5-7 weeks before reaching slaughter weight. This rapid growth is achieved through selective breeding and the use of growth-promoting techniques. After reaching slaughter weight, they are processed for meat production.
I guess so, mainly because the cockatiels would be in the air all the time rarely ever on the ground where as chickens stay on the ground. as long as the pen has a lot of room they should be fine.
Chickens are social animals and thrive in flocks. A chicken living by itself may experience loneliness, stress, and behavioral issues. It is recommended to keep chickens in groups to ensure their well-being.
I've had a white leghorn for eight years now. Others haven't lasted so long and Whitey has had a few sick times in the past but she responds well to a bit of TLC. I expect 8 years is exceptional.
Cornish Rock chickens are a cross that is bred solely for meat. They normally don't live long enough to lay eggs. They are bred to grow too fast so they are prone to have heart attacks if allowed to grow much past broiler stage. If they don't die they will be crippled due to gaining so much weight while their bones are mostly just gristle. It would be cruel to allow a cornish rock to live past broiler stage.
They live for 4-6 yearsThanks.
Chickens may live in hutchs, they dont need to run as long as the hutch is big enough for the amount of chickens you own.
As long as the chicken cage has a high enough roof, a galah can certainly live in the same area as chickens.
Chickens can live for 12+ years if they are well taken care of.
If healthy, 8-10 years

'My chickens only live to about 11 years'.Some of my hens didn't even live for around 4 years old! My first hen had to be put down because it had a broken leg and wing! :-( My eldest sister's died of an illness. And my little sister's died of old age.
Only up to 5 days at most
The average life span of a chicken is 10 years, 12 years is pretty long.
