if the hamster has long har all over the body quite (scruffy looking) then its proberly a russan hamster or if its a small long haired its a russan dwaf if it has short har quite normal sized then its a syririan hamster if its got shortish har (not very long) then its a average chinesse dwaf hamster if its not any of these then i could be a roboroviski dwaf hamster these are quite speedy hard to handle then its one of them hamsters come in differant sizes breed and color my guess if its a syrian hamster if you are not satisfied with this awnser then check the web site at pets at home look at the small pets part and at the left hand side and click pets at store i hope this has gave you the awnser from annomous hamster owner Excuse me for writing this on this. You do have an awesome point(whoever wrote this) but I am guessing the hamster is a Teddy Bear Hamster. This is just a guess but I think it is correct!

You can put them on a higher level, like a table or a desk, so other animals don't have reach of them.Cleaning the cage: You can start by taking the hamster out, (maybe puting them in the ball or a box), and empty the bedding into a garbage can. You can clean the cage in the sink, or with the hose outside. Scrub the cage to get all of the remainings the hamsters may leave. Refill the food and water if needed. Dry the hamster cage and put in fresh new bedding. Make sure its not too much, or too less.Treats: Teddy bear hamsters like treats. It depends on what kind of hamster you get; a dwarf hamster is smaller than a syrian or teddy bear hamster so a starter home might work for them but still do some research on the breed before you buy the cage. Also make sure the bars on the cage are small enough that the hamster can't squeeze out! If he/she can get their head out the rest will easily follow(unless your hamster is really fat which isn't good). Starter homes are NOT okay for syrians, they are too small and a hamster with too little room can die!! :( Wouldn't want that!! Hope this helps <3
