Manx cats will live to be 20-years old and beyond with regular veterinary care and proper diet. The greatest health threat to the Manx is being overweight. Manx cats mature around 5 years of age.
same as any other cat...also if you have one or want one a little tip they behhave the same as other cats there is just one bad thing and that is there balence is not good because they have no tail also may i surgesst to look on www.youtube.com and search "manx cats" Actually despite their lack of a long tail, they still have excellent balance. They are usually jumpers as well. They love to see eye-to-eye with their owners and will jump on furniture. The price of a Manx will depend on the breeder, your location, the pedigree. Watch out for people that say they have "purebred" Manx. They are usually *not* a responsible breeder.
The island with tailless cats is called Isle of Man, located in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland. The cats from this island are known as Manx cats, and they are naturally tailless or have short tails.
Hi there..cats who have a nubby tail are known as Manx. It is a genetic mutation that occurred several hundred years ago. The Manx breed originated on the Isle of Man where there they are commonly found. You can learn more about Manx Cats: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manx_(cat)
A cat that has a genetic mutation in its spine that makes its tail be very short, or it can have no tail at all. They originated in the Isle of Man before the 18th century. Their hind legs are long than their front legs, ears are smaller than most cat breeds, they can come in any color, heads are round, large, round eyes and small nose which makes it very expressive. They are very nice cats. :)
15-25 years
Manx cats are born without tails.
I had a Manx Siamese mix and I was not allergic to it. Is this possible?
Manx cats have a double coat. The shorter inner coat is extremely fine, and the outer coat is usually medium in length, although I have seen the occasional long haired manx. They too, have the undercoat.
The Manx cat is a domestic cat breed which is widely known for having either no, or a very short tail. Manx cats, like all domestic cats, can live happily indoors or with access to outside. However, due to the Manx cat's unnusual appearance in lack of a tail, there is a risk of theft if it has access to outside. Building a cat run or letting the cat out in a harness limits such risk, and allows the cat to enjoy the outside without any danger.
Manx cats are compact tailless cats. For more informtion on them, follow the links in the related link section.
Yes of course, but not all of them. Manx cats are born without tails. One of my cats is tailless because it is descended from a Manx.
Manx cats do not have tails, although some may have a stub of a tail.
No there is not. Who on earth told you that????
The dominant trait of taillessness is called the Manx taillessness gene.
Bob-No tail
Calico Polydactyl Manx cats are relatively common, though there are no exact statistics on the number of cats in the United States. The cats are often sold for high prices.
Manx is not really a species, but a subspecies of cats, one that has little or no tail and longer-than-usual hind legs.
