Best Answer

The earliest bees evolved from wasps about 100 million years ago -- roughly about the same time plants started producing flowers. Bees and flowers then evolved together.

There is fossil evidence proving the honey bee as we know it existed in its current form at least 30 million years ago.

The first honey bees evolved from wasps around 100 million years ago, about the same time as the first flowering plants, although these early bees looked more like wasps than modern bees. Bees and flowers have evolved together ever since.
There is a fossil of a honey bee in amber which looks very similar to modern bees which has been dated at around 35 million years old.
