until it becomes a dog... ^^^^
very sarcastic answer... LOL Well an the average dogs age 7 years faster than we do...I believe I worded that correctly, Well imagine your puppy at 1 year old... well then he/she would be 7 years old in human years... so he is still considered a child, but I don't know if that neccesarily means he is still a puppy....then imagine him at 2 years he is 14 so he is like a teenager. OFF TOPIC>>>> You can usually take your puppy off of puppy food as early as 9 months, some larger breeds even 6 months old. Most people I know take their dogs off of puppy food at 12 months just to be safe. You also have to take into consideration that smaller dogs have longer lifespans than larger ones. They also have more energy because they're hearts are smaller and pump blood faster to keep up with everyone and everything. So it seems that smaller dogs act younger for a longer time than larger dogs. I know many Mastiffs that are couch potatoes at 6-10 months...very mellow dogs, but then again it all depends on the dog's personality and the discipline that the owner is giving him/her. The less disciplined a dog, the less well-behaved... Hope this helps.
