I worked for a Vet some years ago. Of course, Frontline's packaging says it is a ONE MONTH dose. And since the packaging notes that, then the Vet must tell the client that it is a one month dose and needs to be reapplied each month. However - the Vet told us technicians that it really works for up to 3 months! but if you live in an area where fleas are more prevalent, then you would want to apply every 6-8 weeks.
I live on the Mid - East Coast. So in the winter I apply every 3 months, and in the spring-fall, every 6-8 weeks.
Frontline for Dogs is not dangerous to cats (or Frontline for Cats to dogs). They are simply different doses of the same active ingredients (because of the species differences). Frontline for Dogs will still work on cats - but not at the same efficiency (towards the end of the month) as Frontline for Cats. Therefore you should always use the correct product for the species.
Frontline for dogs is manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim, a pharmaceutical company that specializes in animal healthcare. They are a leading provider of pet healthcare products and are known for their flea and tick treatments for dogs and cats.
Fipronil is the medicinal ingredient in regular Frontline. For Frontline Plus, it's a combination of Fipronil and S-methoprene. For Frontline Plus, there is 9.8% of Fipronil and 11.8% of S-methoprene. The remaining 78.4% of ingredients in the Plus formula are inert. This information was obtained through various sources on the Internet. ,,,=^.,.^=,,, KatlovrNo1
I am a dog groomer and it has been my experience that it is best to wait 2 days all the way around, meaning that after the dog has been bathed, wait 2 days before you apply the frontline and then wait 2 days to bath the dog again after it has been applied. Frontline DOES NOT seep into the dogs blood stream and kill fleas that way!! The natural oils on the dog's skin carry the frontline throughout the body and prevent fleas and ticks. This does not happen immediatly, it can take up to 18 hours. This is a FAQ from the frontline website."How long after application can my pet be bathed or go swimming?"FRONTLINE Brand Products remain effective for 30 days, even if a pet swims or is bathed. After application, keep the dog or cat from getting wet until the application area appears dry, usually 24 hours. If a FRONTLINE Brand Product is to be applied after a bath, make sure the pet is completely dry before application.
There are many stores that sell Frontline Flea and Tick control for cats. Check out PetSmart or Petco. One can also find it at stores such as Amazon or Walmart.

Frontline should not be toxic to humans - however if you have swallowed it or got it in your eyes it may be a good idea to wash/rinse it out. If you are concerned you should contact your doctor.
a frontline trench was the one at the front
It usually starts to work as soon as you put it on.
