You should only have 1 fish per gallon of water in a fish tank. I wouldn't put more than 2 or 3 Neon Tetras in a 4 gallon aquarium with 1 Betta.

What is the best kind of fish for 30 gallon aquarium?

Your choice, check out your local pet store to see what you like. Check with the staff if you have any compatibility questions regarding putting different groups of fish together. If this is your first tank, start with a few community fish. A 30 gallon tank is a good size, easy to maintain, and large enough to enjoy many different fish. I started out with 2 - 30 gallon tanks, I've kept one tank with all different types of tetras (bleeding heart, glo-lite, neon, serpae, headlight/taillight, etc.) for over 20 years. Good luck.

Can you have a fish tank with 18 neon tetras and 2 large goldfish?

It is not recommended to keep neon tetras with large goldfish. Goldfish are coldwater fish while neon tetras are tropical fish, meaning they have different temperature and water quality requirements. Additionally, goldfish can be aggressive and may try to eat the smaller neons. It's best to keep fish with similar needs together to ensure their well-being.

Can you put a lizard with a male betta fish?

NO!!! Lizards should only be kept with other lizards of their own species. Some kinds of lizards are fine by themselves. Waste from the lizard is poisonous to fish. Also, Lizards do not need a lot of water, where would the fish go? Lizards don't swim. The lizard would eat the fish. Male betta fish are best housed by themselves, or in a 10 gallon or bigger tank with neon tetras, or other gentle community fish. Also, never house a male betta with another male betta, or a female betta. They will fight until their death. Females can be kept together. Three do fine in a ten gallon tank. NEVER put bettas with fish that have long flowing or colorful fins, the betta will mistake it for another betta and kill it.

What are some important considerations when keeping betta fish with neon tetras in the same aquarium?

When keeping betta fish with neon tetras in the same aquarium, it is important to consider the compatibility of the two species in terms of water temperature, tank size, and aggression levels. Betta fish are territorial and may become aggressive towards neon tetras, so providing hiding spots and ample space is crucial. Additionally, maintaining water quality and monitoring the behavior of both species is essential to ensure their well-being.

Can you keep Betta fish with Neon Tetra fish?

You can put at least 5 neon tetras with Betta's because neon tetras need to be in a school. If you only put 1-3 neon tetras, then they will probably be eaten by the Betta because you won't have enough neon tetras to be in a school. The purpose for a school is to protect themselves from predators with a group and if you only have 1-3 neon tetras, then they will hide and get really stressed out. So, get at least 5 neon tetras and another important thing is, get a big enough tank for your Betta and neon tetra. That is, because, as you know, Betta fish are territorial and need their own territory and if the neon tetras enter their territory (if the tank is small), then the Betta will probably attack (that is only if you don't have enough neon tetras and not a big enough tank). So, it is important to get at least a 10- 15 gallon tank and get at least 5 neon tetras for 1 Betta fish. 1-3 neon tetras won't work. They will not be in a school and will be stressed out and hide from the Betta. A thing about neon tetras that is interesting and is cool is that, neon tetras bury their eggs in the gravel (Make sure to only have gravel!) if their eggs are not going to hatch. Also eat them.~Thank you, and good luck!~
