Wildland fires that have been intentionally set kill animals and plants on a scale we cannot measure with any accuracy. There is too much destruction in the initial wave, and the temporary loss of habitat will force some survivors into "someone else's" territory and secondary loss would compound the problem and be impossible to discover. The extensive destruction caused by an arson-initiated wildland fire can only be "guestimated" and, sadly, will probably be assessed in dollar loss rather than the number of incidents where a life has been erased.
