Best Answer

there are an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 left.

they are rapidly decreasing in number though because the natives are eating them and people are taking them into captivity. this causes them to commit suicide or die earlier.

They are one of the endangered species. The number of tarsiers is rapidly decreasing. It is because humans are cutting down the trees in forest.

The golden lion tamarin has a wild population of around 1000. The population is being added to by re-introduced captive bred specimans. Population stable, but endangered.
