Different species produce different numbers of young. Mouth brooding cichlids produce perhaps 20 at a time whereas broadcast spawning ocean fish produce thousands of viable fertilized larvae, few of which survive to adulthood.
there might not be a certain time of year it might just depend on when your cat is pregnant but you can ask your vet how many months it's usually pregnant and you can find out when the babies are born i am not exactly sure of my answer so you might also want to ask someone else
No. Martens are not cats, but mustelids, related to weasels. The larger fisher is also a mustelid. The fishing cat of Asia is a true feline, or cat.
An extremely aggravated one.
On average, 1 human year is equivalent to about 7 cat years. This ratio can vary depending on the breed of the cat and its health.
Yes they do. All members of the weasel family (weasel, mink, marten, fisher, and wolverine) have anal glands that emit a very strong odor. I had a house cat who killed a group of 3 weasels over a 24 hr. period. He proudly left all the bodies on my steps. I noticed the odor before I saw the animals. My cat had the odor on him as well. Just this last winter, another house cat of mine was attacked and almost killed by a fisher. I came across the fisher carrying the cat by his head as they crossed the driveway in the snow. The fisher relaxed his grip and my cat made his escape. The fisher ran away. My cat ran up the driveway to the house (300 yds.) and collapsed in the snow. I got a light and saw that the cat was covered in blood. The odor was incredibly strong, permeating the area. The cat had punture wounds- 2 between his ears and 2 on his throat. His head had been inside the fisher's mouth. I took the cat to the vet that night where he spent 4 days recuperating from his wounds. The odor took about 10 days to dissipate from the cat. The cat made a complete recovery and definitely used up most of his 9 lives.
Yes, my cat had two babies one year. They usually have five or six, of course, but two is possible. My cat was old and couldn't have as many as she used to.
the main predator of a fisher cat is another fisher cat

Despite it's name, a Fisher Cat (Martes pennanti) is not a cat, but a marten or mustid. It does not eat fish.
If you mean that your cat is having her second litter of kittens, she can have as few as two babies or as many as eight babies. Some cats have more or less than that but normally most cats fall somewhere in the middle.
