The lifespan of a worker bee is about six weeks during the summer, three weeks in the hive and three weeks as a forager.
In early summer the queen can be laying as many as 2,000 eggs a day. The colony numbers will be increasing so more eggs are being laid than bees are dying. It is difficult to put an exact number on the amount that die each day because it will depend on the size of the colony, but it will be somewhere from a few hundred, up to a thousand.
