We have a number of different kinds of chickens. Barred Rocks, Cochins, Frizzles, Silkies, Marans and Americanas. They have lived from 3 years to 6 years and counting. We started our flock when our son was in kindergarten. He is now in 5th grade. Of the original birds, two of the five are still alive. Two died at the hands of coyotes and one died of natural causes at 4 years old. We have another 4 year old that is dying now. They are strong birds and can take alot. One of our oldest birds broke a leg 3 years ago. We set the fracture in our laundry room with tongue depressors. The wound healed beautifully and she is thriving. Another bird had a prolapse of her intestine due to a stuck egg. We simply pushed everythin back in place and she recovered. We are not doctors or chicken experts, just a family with chicks. You can keep these birds going a long time.
Finally, chickens kept in a safe place away from the dangers of foxes, raccoons and other predators can live a bit more than ten years. Not all breeds can last this long. Certainly 4-7 years can be expected.
A baby chicken is called a chick.
A young chicken is called a chick, a pullet (young hen), or a cockerel (young rooster).
You can't honestly call a chicken; they just sort of come. You can drop chicken food as the best hope.
Hens and roosters are both chickens, so the offspring are called chicks. As they get older and show their male or female characteristics, they are called either a hen or a rooster. Note: In Australia and New Zealand, chickens are called chooks or chookies.
No, a chicken needs a rooster to fertilize the egg in order for it to develop into a chick. Without the rooster's contribution, the eggs laid by a hen will remain unfertilized and will not hatch into chicks.

Chick-fil-a has many items with chicken in it, hence the 'chick' in it. They serve chicken strips, nuggets, Sandwiches, burgers and the lemonade is very tasty. They also have dessert like ice cream and other drinks too. Chick-fil-a uses REAL chicken breast. It is a great restaurant.
Firstly a hen has a chick, not a baby. If the hen is ignoring her chick it is best to take the chick away and place it in a brooder until it is old enough to survive among the flock on its own. Signs that a hen, is rejecting her chick: • Pecking at the chick - blood is normally visible, remove the chick immediately • Showing no sign of interest to the chick/s
