Five, they are:
- Compound Eye. Vees have two compound eyes, each eye is made up of thousands of light sensitive cells whuch help the bee understand colour, light and directional information from the suns ultra violet rays.
- Simple Eye. Bees have three simple eyes that are arranged in a triangle on the head. The simple eyes are called "ocelli" they mostly help the bee determine the amount of light present.
A bee typically has five eyes. They have two large compound eyes and three smaller simple eyes located on the top of their head.
The name of a bee that is born in may is called maybe.
A may bee!
A bee doesn't have three eyes, it has five! It has two compound eyes, which are its organs of vision, and on the top of its head (slightly forward of the top in a drone) are three simple eyes, called ocelli, which are set out in a triangle. The ocelli don't form images, they are simply light receptors. Although their purpose is not fully understood, it is thought they help the bee to orient itself when flying.
Almost all of them do. Insects generally have two compound eyes (composed of hundreds of facets) and three simple eyes or ocelli on the top of their heads, between the compound eyes. Just look closely at a picture of a bee's or damselfly's face and you'll see!
5 eyes

A bee has five eyes: two compound eyes on the sides of the head and three tiny simple eyes, called ocelli, on top of the head. The ocelli do not form images but respond to changes of brightness more quickly than the compound eyes. It is thought they are used by the bee to orient itself as it pitches and rolls in flight.
May bee!
