Opinions are not facts:In 1973, Wyoming moved the native wolf species, Timber Wolves, which are smaller and hunt in twos and threes from the predator list to the trophy animal list which required a hunt license and tag. Soon after, they were listed as endangered. These native wolves held a small population, but were gaining ground. In 1995, the Federal Government implemented the 'Canadian Gray Wolf EXPERIMENT', releasing Canadian Gray wolves in Yellowstone Park and the Frank Church Wilderness. The target population of the experiment was 300 wolves total. There are currently over 1800 Canadian Gray Wolves in the West. The population of the native, smaller Timber Wolves is now gone.

Needless to say, the other native wildlife populations are now teetering on the brink of extinction because of this non-native species. Moose in the Tetons, Yellowstone, and the Bitter Roots are a memory. The cow/calf ratio for the Bitter Roots was a healthy 33 calves to 100 cows. The current cow calf ratio is 2.5 calves to 100 cows. Deer populations are at an all time low, with the highest populations in some areas in towns!

Love the wolf, but please LOVE THE OTHER ANIMALS ALSO. Protect the wolves, but please PROTECT THE OTHER ANIMALS ALSO. Vote to implement a well-managed, controlled hunt to help balance out the imbalance created by man.
