It is estimated that there are around 200 white tigers left in India, which are primarily found in conservation centers and zoos. These white tigers are a rare variant of the Bengal tiger and are protected under Indian wildlife laws.
As of now, the population of white tigers in the wild is very low, with estimates suggesting there are less than 200 individuals. In captivity, white tigers are more common, but the exact population numbers can vary depending on the breeding programs in place. Conservation efforts are important for the protection of white tigers and their genetic diversity.
A streak of tigers typically consists of one to three individuals. Tigers are solitary animals and do not form large groups like some other species of big cats.

Bengal tigers are estimated to be between 1,300 and 1,500. But according to zoologists, there is only a 1 in 10,000 chance that a Bengal tiger will be born with the white genetic mutation. There are at least 200 white tigers in zoos today, but many more in the hands of private owners who keep them as 'pets'. In the past 100 years, there have only been 12 confirmed reports of white tiger sightings in the wild, the last of which occurred in 1959. Some people say none are left... in the wild.
