If you are looking for a purebreed dogs contact private breeders, see where they keep their dogs, and they should have the mother and father on site or a reference to the stud, My best friend insisted on getting a 1500 min pin from petland, within days she was sick with kennel cough, something common in dogs kept poorly, within weeks that escolated to phnemona, at under one pound the puppy was in icu on and iv for 6 days. She pulled through but many dogs don't, petland has a health gurantee, which is better than most but they will only offer so much help and if they know a dog is sick they will put it down instead of treating it, 6 months after my friend bought her dog we went back and an employee told us they were not suppose to sell that dog, but send her back to be put down. Shelters and rescues normally have great pictures of their dogs on their sites
