The weight of the skeleton of a bird varies with the bird. But what is arguably more important is what percentage of the weight of the bird is represented in its skeleton. Compared to most other animals, the weight of the bird's skeleton is fairly small compared to the weight of the bird. The big Flightless Birds have a higher percentage of their weight in their skeleton compared to flying birds.
