very...maybe not as smart as German or austr. Shepperds, but they are close. Bouviers can also be stubborn at times too. They are extremely watchful and easily pick up on human mannerisms (i.e. mine can differentiate between going for a walk and car ride before we even leave the house)...

My dog is a Bouvier des Flandres and he loves to run! This breed is a herding breed, so they can easily keep up with you for a short amount of time. I don't know exactly how fast they can run, but they can run very fast for short amounts of time. They soon get tired, having to carry their weight.
