According to Dr.Randel Hickle, yorkies are the HARDEST dogs to train when it comes to that. Other then that, they're perfect for a cute little family of 5.
As soon as the little yorkie becomes 2 years old, it should catch up faster and "The business".

∙ 12y agoThey're extremely smart! @ least in my opinion. I own one! Her name is Matilda. She's 6 years old this month. She's very intelegent. That means that she understands you perfectly with little repition. That does not however, mean that she will choose respond to the command etc! They are not "small dogs" they are big dogs in "small skins." They are unaware of their size and have large personalities. Matilda is also good with kids. She knows how to do some tricks, she will also try to talk to you. Sorry, I can't say enough. I do feel bad sometimes because I am unable to spend as much time with her as she deserves.
They're definitely Terriers!
