According to Dr.Randel Hickle, yorkies are the HARDEST dogs to train when it comes to that. Other then that, they're perfect for a cute little family of 5.
As soon as the little yorkie becomes 2 years old, it should catch up faster and "The business".
They're extremely smart! @ least in my opinion. I own one! Her name is Matilda. She's 6 years old this month. She's very intelegent. That means that she understands you perfectly with little repition. That does not however, mean that she will choose respond to the command etc! They are not "small dogs" they are big dogs in "small skins." They are unaware of their size and have large personalities. Matilda is also good with kids. She knows how to do some tricks, she will also try to talk to you. Sorry, I can't say enough. I do feel bad sometimes because I am unable to spend as much time with her as she deserves.

Scottish terriers come in 3 colors, BROWN,WHITE,BLACK. Its very rarely that they come in brown. Usually the white terrier are west highland terriers are white, but the Scotties can sometimes be white. And they have pointy ears to help them hear stuff really good. They run rally fast going after deer or dogs. They love stinky stuff. TRUST ME I HAVE ONE. And its really cute a black Scottish terrier.
