In my opinion and experiences, yes they do. My house always had a odd bad feeling to it. Mostly in the basement where there was this dark decrepid cubby hole. My cats Tigger and Midnight, both relatives of the Egyptian cats, would stand in front of this cubby hole and take turns guarding it. After 5 years of my parents living there, Tigger our oldest cat died. Then a week later, our other cat Midnight died(I think from a broken heart over Tigger). About a month later weird stuff started to happen. Lights flickering, noises from the basement, an overwhelming evil feeling everytime you were into the basement. Now a year later I know for sure my house is haunted. Now we hear voices, alot mimicking my voice or my fathers, and loud thumps on the floor sounding like its coming from the basement. I do think my cats were keeping something evil at bay down there and once they died their protection went with them. Now im sure that house has an evil poltergeist.

It depends on the kind of bird which died. Love birds usually don't mate with another one. Some birds even commit suicide after their partner dies. Check what kind of bird it is then research on it.
The loss of birds depend on which birds. If many robins died, the worm population would go up. Cats would have to eat other food.
With the exception of birds, dinosaurs died out 65.5 million years ago. Saber toothed cats evolved after that, and since birds probably rarely if ever killed saber toothed cat cubs, I would say no, dinosaurs did not kill saber toothed cubs.
They are dogs, cats, and maybe even much bigger birds, So keep them away from dogs or cats! My bird died because my dog killed him, so be very careful and never leave them alone with another animal that is loose.

You are found guilty for this impetuous act!
I would say butterflies are okay, however, I once caught one, and it died. I'm not really sure. For birds, I would say no. They are a wild animal, and you don't know what they'll do. So I wouldn't catch birds.
It would be great if they only died of old age. However, some birds are run over by cars. Juvenile kiwi are often killed by stoats, and sometimes by weasels, ferrets, cats and dogs. Adult kiwi are vulnerable to dogs and ferrets only.
