I have one living on my porch right now that cant walk very well or climb anything. It doesn't hiss when i touch it, and it eats bees. I did dangle a dead bee in front of it and it jumped at my hand, but it is really slow and uncoordinated, and had a hard landing.
i have a palm squirrel and its 10 years old now.... i think they survive longer if in captivity as mine is in cage and only moves around inside the house since i live in flat... so chance of him getting caught by cat birds etc...
