If you are absent for more than 48 hours, you should have someone come and feed and water your chickens. Yes. We have free range chickens and have left them for a week...we put out a small shallow pool of water (small baby pool does nicely) and set up a deer feeder near the coop. The deer feeder runs on a batter and at the designated times it sprays chicken feed, scratch grain, etc. Our chickens are quite conditioned to it...as soon as they hear it go off they come running from all over our property because they know it's meal time!
Both minks and weasels are known to sucks the blood from chickens. They will also eat the insides, but leave much of the meat.
A chicken may leave its roost at night if it gets startled by a predator, if it senses danger, or if it is disturbed by noise or light. Chickens are naturally wary animals and will react to threats or disruptions in their environment.
yes because I did it and they seemed to like it. Chickens need constant access to water, so yes leave the water out for them at night.
Chickens will naturally go home to roost about half an hour before dark. If you leave a light on in the coop they will wander in and settle down all by themselves. All you need to do is go in after dark and lock them down for the night. Time means nothing to the hens, its all about the ability to see and as dusk approaches they seek shelter.
Chickens are chickens because god made them.
If you know somebody that knows chickens well or has a farm give it to them.
You can get someone to look after them if you can or you can leave them out and leave a shelter up if you want.
I wouldnt. It needs food and water, and company. I get my friend to feed them everyday when I'm on holiday.
No. In Chocolate it has eggs...chickens will smell the chocolate then leave it for the ants to eat it.
maybe. it depends on what condition you leave your pet in. if you leave you pet to go on holiday and it is in a very poor condition then the RSPCA will get involved. If the cat is healthy and it has water and food then you properly won't get into trouble. The best way is to get a friend or family member that you trust and get them to feed you pet.
It means you are restricted or prohibited from taking holiday leave at these times.
From my experience, chickens will go wherever the food/water goes, and also where the other chickens go. I'm assuming your question is directed towards you wondering if you can leave the chickens run outside during the day and lock their coop at night. Unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure that no predators can get into their "play" area, I would stay outside with them to ensure their safety. I love chickens, but rememember, as funny and cute as they are, chickens are not intelligent animals. I've heard stories that if you light a candle in the corner of a dark room, chickens (and turkeys) will light themselves on fire by running into it with their feathers...
CHICKENS GO BAWK BAWK BAWK
Their god is their way of survival, and that means food.
There is no difference.
if you leave them with nobody and there outdoors they might or you can have somebody take care of them an keep them indoors till your back
no because such a leave is almost for all the companies
