I would go into the room with the lions that hadn't eaten in 3 years. After that long without food they would probably be dead from starvation. If they were still alive, they might have forgotten how to eat, which would make it safer for me. And if I shared my lunch with them, we might become friends! (Here kitty, kitty . . . )
