∙ 13y agoHog raising is the process of feeding, breeding, and reproducing swine. The farmer will feed (grow) pigs to full sexual maturity where he will then breed them together. He will then feed the sow the required nutrients during gestation, once the sow has given birth he/she will then feed the mother and the piglets. At weaning time he will grow the litter to either slaughter weights or to sexual maturity. At this point in time they will either be sent for meat or bred for production. This process will continue until the farmer sells the business.
