Yes they are the same breed, but the term 'Irish Pony' can also be applied to any pony from Ireland so it is best to refer to each pony by it's correct breed name.

What is the name of a male pony?

A male pony is often called the same as any male horse. If he is young, then he is called a foal or colt. If he is matured, then he may either be a stallion or gelding, depending of his use, where he lives, etc. The more scientific name for a pony is Equus ferus caballus. A PONY IS NOT THE SAME AS A FOAL! A pony is a mature horse under 14 hands. There are foals, ponies, and pony foals.

What is the smallest bread of pony?

The smallest genuine pony breed is the Shetland pony, at around 9-10 hands adult height. The true Shetland pony comes from the Shetland Isles, and should not be confused with the American Shetland, an American breed resulting from crossbreeding Shetland ponies and other pony breeds like the Welsh and Connemara. The American Shetland is larger and more versatile, but not as tough or 'cute' as the original. There is also a miniature Shetland pony, created by selectively breeding the smallest available Shetland ponies to each other; there is some debate over whether the miniature Shetland deserves breed status in its own right. Mini Shetlands may have some health problems resulting from inbreeding. All three of these breeds are pony breeds in that they show true pony character in the proportions and around the face. The smallest horse breeds are the Falabella and the Miniature Horse. Although both of these breeds are far below the usual cutoff height for a horse (14.2 hands) they are always referred to as horses, not ponies, because in appearance and proportion they are miniature horses and do not show pony character. The Falabella breed has significant health problems due to the excessive inbreeding used to create them. The miniature horse is not the same; it is a more recent breed created by crossing miniature breeds such as the Shetland pony and the Falabella with the smallest available thoroughbreds and arabians. The result is a well-proportioned and generally healthy, extremely small animal that is a horse - NOT a pony - in appearance and proportion. Of course, there are still some breeders who select their breeding stock for size first and health second, and this has resulted in the setting of some 'dwarf' genes into certain miniature horse lines. The world record holders for smallest horses and ponies are all minature horses that also carry dwarf genes. Although some mini dwarfs are endearing, most have very serious health problems and deliberately breeding for dwarfism is morally bankrupt.

Is a pony the same spieces as a horse?

Many people think that a pony is a baby horse. That is not true. If a horse stands under 14.2 hands at the highest point of his/her back, then that horse is considered a pony. Each hand is four inches. Anything above 14.2 hands at the back is considered a horse and not a pony.

Can you breed Uni Rejects and get a unicorn?

Unfortunately no, uni rejects are completely normal horses (even in the game 'genetics'). To breed a unicorn, both parents must be unicorns of the same breed to possibly produce a unicorn foal.Example To Possibly Produce a Uni:Connemara Unicorn Mare + Connemara Unicorn Stallion MIGHT produce a Connemara Unicorn Foal.Remember that there is currently only a 1 in 5 chance that you will produce a unicorn - even if you breed the appropriate pair at your 'uni breeding time.'

If a horse is under 14.2hh it is called a Foal Small Horse Miniature Horse Pony?

Answer-Pony Its called a pony or small horse. Mostly if its an Arabian it can be called a horse or small horse or large pony. It is definitley not called a small horse. A horse is a different breed to a pony. It should be called a pony. 14.2 is large pony by hunter and dressage (FEI) standards. 14.2 is pony, and some will argue that 14.3 is even pony (FEI dressage defines pony as 14.3 and under). A horse is not a different breed to pony. Horses and ponies can be the same breed and be totally different sizes. It's all genetics. However there are breeds of ponies and breeds of horses which are entirely different from each other and one another; example: New Forest Pony/Thoroughbred Horse.
