No. Although they are very popular, the AKC does not recognize the goldendoodle as an official breed.

Is there such thing as a mini goldendoodle?

Yes they are and they are a very sweet and loving breed of dog.

What group is a goldendoodle?

Goldendoodles are mixed breed, and therefore are not part of one of the AKC "groups". The AKC only categorizes purebreds.

Are golden doodles endangered?

No, they aren't endangered. Actually, they aren't a breed, rather they are a popular cross of a Poodle and a Golden Retriever. Because they aren't a true breed of dog, there isn't a breed standard of how any Goldendoodle will look. Some look more "golden" and less "oodle" than others.

What does FB1 breeding in dogs mean?

It means that the particular liter is a second generation of that breed. For example, an FB1 miniature Goldendoodle (golden retriever/poodle) would mean that the breeder originally bred a poodle and a golden to get the first set of goldendoodle puppies. Then the breeder bred those goldendoodles with another toy poodle. So now the goldendoodles are bred BACK to poodle and they have now more poodle in them than golden.

Are goldendoodles a good choice?

Goldendoodles are a mix between a Golden Retriever X Poodle. So, they are very intelligent, tempered because of the Poodle, and very gentle, playful and good with kids, because of the Golden Retriever. But, the Goldendoodle is a good breed because it has little to no genetic defects because of its large gene pool as there is no inbreeding or linebreeding.People also often choose the Goldendoodle because it does not shed, and is hypoallergenic to those with allergies. You can not be totally sure that the dogs wont shed because different litters varyThe goldendoodle is even used for Seeing Eye dogs for those with allergies!Another positive thing about the Goldendoodle is that they come in a variety of sizes. The Standard Goldendoodle: 50-90lbs. 20-29inches. Medium Goldendoodle (Golden Retriever X mini poodle): 40lbs. and up. F1 Goldendoodle (Mini Goldendoodle X Golden retriever): 30-40lbs. F1B Goldendoodle (Mini Goldendoodle X Toy Poodle): 15-25lbs.Although they come in different sizes, they are just as intelligent and healthy as the Standard Doodles. If you are currently looking for a Goldendoodle OR Labradoodle breeder in your area this website may help: http://www.goldendoodles.com/breeders.htm It has breeders in Canada and the United States.Well hope that helps you out!!PLEASE DO NOT BE MISLED......SOME GOLDENDOODLES DO SHED AND NOT ALL ARE GOOD FOR PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES! AS A BREEDER OF GOLDENDOODLES MYSELF, I CAN TELL YOU THAT THEY ARE AWESOME FAMILY PETS.....BUT, DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND ASK QUESTIONS OF THE BREEDER.....IF A BREEDER CLAIMS THAT THEIR DOODLES ARE "HYPOALLERGENIC" THEY ARE LYING TO YOU......THE ONLY TRULY "HYPOALLERGENIC" DOG IS A PLASTIC ONE!( unless you are allergic to plastic)Also, they are very cute

Can you mix a boxer with a goldendoodle?

Theoretically it is possible to mate any two Dogs of whatever breed, as they are the same species (though I cannot say that a Chihuahua and Great Dane mix would be too likely!). A Boxer and "Goldendoodle" mating is therefore completely possible and would produce puppies that were half Boxer, one quarter Poodle and one quarter Golden Retriever. Boxer's and Goldendoodle's are generally of a similar size, so this mating should be able to be carried out with limited human assistance.

Where you could find Goldendoodle puppies in California that is from a trusted Goldendoodle breeder and not some backyard first time breeder who has no idea what they are doing?

Hate to break it to you, but if they are breeding "goldendoodles" then they are either puppy millers or BYB's.NO good breeder would ever breed such a mutt. You might, however, find some good reputeable breeders for Poodles or Golden retrievers. Or you can go to the shelter and find a golden/poodle mix at a much cheaper cost (and probably even healthier) then you would at any "goldendoodle" breeders.
