Lions are carnivores, because they eat meat.

They prey on other animals, such as gazelle and zebra, then eat their meaty bodies.

Lions are equipped with extremely sharp teeth, razor sharp claws and powerfully strong paws.

The lion uses the sheer power of their paws to knock, throw or grab their prey to the ground.

Their razor sharp claws are used for digging into the flesh and muscles of their prey to pull it to the ground as well as to rip open the body to access the meat.

The sharp teeth are not only used for chewing the meat, but they are also used for crunching or breaking bones to either disable the limbs of the prey or move them out the way to get to the fleshy meat. Lions will also aim to bite the neck of their prey when they catch it, and clamp their teeth into the neck until the animal bleeds to death.

Lions work in teams, or packs, to get their prey.

A lion is so powerful, that if they are threatened, they can easily bring down a fully grown adult human armed with a man-made weapon.
