Burping is a normal human bodily function just as gas can be and all humans experience it on occasion. The main reason for burping is because the person may eat too fast and thus swallow air while eating or a food that does agree with them and causes heartburn. It is not rude to burp unless someone gets dramatic about it and lets out a belch thinking it's funny, but the etiquette to burping is to do so in one's napkin. In some countries belching or burping is a must and lets the host know the guest enjoyed the meal.
Well, belches can be harmful. They might increase vomiting chances, or fart chances. Burping or belching is rude.
Errrrr no. This is actually quite rude. However it is considered a compliment to burp after a meal. Depending upon the culture, burping can be considered rude, too.
The correct spelling is ''burping''.
In most western cultures burping is considered rude. However, people in the Middle East, East Asia and South Asia often burp after a meal as a compliment to the chef and a sign that they have eaten well and enjoyed your meal. Probably not a good idea to try it outside of these countries.
