I don't give my cat milk but we usually give him meat and pellets he enjoys and its a good diet and he never has any hair balls. Because the fat in the milk usually pulls the hair together once it consumes it. So basically get milk with less lactose in it if you want to give it milk at all.

Its best if you give them special cat milk which is safe for cats to drink as a treat.

∙ 15y agoYou really shouldn't give cats milk unless it's specially formulated for them (they have feline milk for kittens). If you give a cat cow's milk it will usually upset their stomach since most cats become lactose intolerant once they're a few months old . I've had cats my whole life and sometimes we give them a little spoonful of milk because they seem to really love it, but any more and you'll be cleaning up the aftereffects of some nasty digestive problems!

∙ 14y agoyes and no~ they don't need to, and for some it may upset their stomach's and they may barf it all back up, but if your cat doesn't throw it up then it's fine to give your cat some milk now and then.
