Seahorses are unique among fish as they exhibit a form of viviparity; the males carry and nurture the developing embryos in a specialized pouch. After fertilization, the female deposits her eggs into the male's pouch, where he fertilizes them and provides protection and nutrition until they hatch. This reproductive strategy is quite different from the typical oviparous method of laying eggs externally.

Ants are oviparous but can become viviparous depending on the surrounding temperatures in which it lives. If they are sheltered from the wind they can become viviparous.
Raccoons are viviparous - they are placental mammals.
Oviparous animals lay eggs that develop and hatch outside of the mother's body, while viviparous animals give birth to live offspring that have developed inside the mother's body. Oviparous animals include birds and most reptiles, while viviparous animals include mammals and some reptiles.
