Cats don't become anorexic like humans can and generally there is a health issue creating it and a cat that is too thin and is eating, but not gaining weight or isn't eating should be taken to a vet to be properly diagnosed as there are too many variables as to why the cat may not be eating or is eating and not gaining proper weight. Not as such. Anorexia nervosa is primarily a problem with self-image; cats don't have a self-image which causes them concern.

That said, a cat with a persistent stomach irritation can seem anorexic; if the stomach is inflamed, the cat may end up vomiting its food and lose weight because it cannot keep anything down. It is possible to treat this with prednisolone, but be aware that your cat may need a pill every day for the rest of its life. If you have a cat that vomits repeatedly, please see your vet.
