My Betta has swelling under it's front fins below it's gills.
If a betta fish is floating at the top of the tank, it could indicate a swim bladder issue, which may be caused by overfeeding, constipation, or infection. It's important to monitor the fish's behavior and water parameters, and consider adjusting its diet or seeking veterinary advice if necessary.
A betta fish laying on its side at the bottom of the fishbowl could indicate illness or stress. It may be suffering from a swim bladder issue, which affects its buoyancy. Immediate attention from a vet or a specialist in fish care is recommended to diagnose and treat the problem.
NO!!!!! They should not eat betta fish...but if your cat has then call a vet, and don't get anymore betta Fish!
betta are not harmful to people and most tropical fish. However, there are some very common fish that are poisonous. Most of the common plecos with spines can be toxic to tropical fish if they are dumb enough to peck at it. If you feel that another fish you own will get sick from being around your betta, odds are the two can live together happily and healthily. If another pet, like a cat or dog swallowed your betta, I wouldn't worry. I have never heard of pet poisoning from eating tropicals.
Some betta kits come with bamboo; it's completely fine
it will be sick but if it continues then your betta will die.
Betta fish grow paler and less active when they are sick or old.
