A 50# bag for a small number of birds will last quite a long time, and the birds will be happy and healthy. If you are not in an area where there are many farm type of stores, some pet shops can order this feed for you. Birds are not people-- they need a much higher protein in their feed than we do, so feeding a chicken people food just doesn't work out.
