Unless the buck is intended for breeding, yes they should be castrated. The two biggest reasons are because with all the hormone they tend not to be overly friendly.
Also they really smell. The hormones will activate glands near the horns that female goats find very sexy, but to humane noses is very offensive. To increase there sexiness the buck will urinate on his legs to further entice the females during breeding season. Castrated males (called weathers) will not do this.
