Look to see if there are still hummingbirds using the feeders, if there are then these birds will require you to keep feeding them for as long as they come for food.

Are hummingbirds edible?

Hummingbirds in fact can be dangerous. In rare instances for example, if you were to take a hummingbird and stick it in your eye, it can be very dangerious. OK...seriously..I want to know too. Or more specifically, if a persion has ever been killed by a hummingbird...even accidentally. Seems feasibeezy!..>Seric Yes, this is right, although we aren't aware of any deaths brought about by this action. One wouldn't need to stick the humming bird in one's eye, though. Since they are particularly attracted to red, if one were out, drinking to excess, the humming bird would naturally be drawn by the particularly reddened eyes. It would probably begin by slurping up the liquid (percieved as nectar?) around the orb. In it's effort to grab the last drop, things could get a bit rough, as the hummingbird impatiently pokes around for more, perhaps even within the orb, its self.

What do you feed rhododendrons?

Rhododendrons are not heavy feeders. They like an organic source of nitrogen since chemical nitrogen can destroy microorganisms in the soil that help rhododendrons extract nutrients from the soil. Other than that they need an acidic balanced fertilizer with trace elements such as iron, phosphorus, magnesium, etc. Liquid fertilizers are not a good choice since they contain high amounts of chemical nitrogen. Some good rhododendron fertilizers contain cottonseed meal as an organic source of nitrogen.

When do you put out hummingbird food?

It depends on where you live. Hummingbirds are flower feeders and consequently tend to migrate when flowers will be in bloom. So feeders should be put out in spring when flowers start blooming and should be kept out until the first frost. Its also important to change the liquid in feeders every week since it will begin to ferment.

Are talapia fish bottom feeders?

Halibut are primarily bottom feeders since they do not possess a swim bladder. They have been seen and caught very far off the bottom by sport fisherman. This is more common with juveniles than with adults. They are oppurtunistic feeders and will come well off the bottom to feed.

When do you remove Humming Bird feeders for the winter in TN?

Since hummingbirds don't need us humans to tell them when to migrate, you can take your feeder down whenever you want to, whether you're still seeing hummingbirds or not. Ruby-throated Hummingbirds should have left Tennessee by the first frost, so that's a good time to take your feeders in for the season.

Do hummingbirds eat nectar?

Most Definitely YES! :D Hummingbirds are oftentimes seen flying from flower to flower, sticking their long beaks into the center to sip any available nectar that is inside the flower. They have to travel to many different flowers since each has an insignificant amount of nectar to consume. This is also why hummingbird feeders are filled with sugary water, providing hummingbirds with a food source that is similar to plant nectar.

What is the symbiotic relationship of hummingbirds and fruit trees?

With he flowers they get the nectar from. The pollen off the flower gets on the hummingbird's wings and beck. By going from flower to flower, it's just helping the flower pollinate. The hummingbird gets helped also since it gets food from the flower.
