I am assuming you're talking about surgical correction of portosystemic shunts in dogs.
This depends on the nature of the shunt. Some liver shunts are multiple very small vessels ("microvascular") and surgery is not a good option. Some are easily found outside of the liver ("extra-hepatic") and surgery can be a great easy fix, others are "intra- hepatic" and surgery can be more challenging but still the best option.
Proper diagnosis of the nature of the liver shunt and patient blood values will help determine your prognosis and success rate. If your dog already is very sick they can have somewhat rocky recoveries vs dogs that are feeling well maintained medically on low protein diets etc..
The more rain, the lower the hatching success rate
Both sides of body should shows same pulse rate, rhythm and volume. Used to check circulation in body parts after surgery

Hyperthyroidism itself is unlikely to be fatal to a cat. However, if left untreated there are health issues that could become fatal: The increased heart rate of a hyperthyroid cat can put great strain on the heart, and can cause Heart Failure. Liver damage can be caused by it having to work harder due to the increased metabolism, or increased fat deposits if the cat develops Hepatic Lipiosis (see below). The most common sign that a cat is hyperthyroid is significant weight loss, but an increased appetite. Even this cannot go unchecked as the cat could become emaciated, which puts a strain on the body and organs. Another worry is Hepatic Lipidosis, also known as Fatty Liver Disease. This is caused when a cat loses a significant amount of weight in a short period of time. Stored fat in the cat's body is moved to the liver. Unfortunately, a cat's body is not designed to process large amounts of fat, and this can cause the liver to become overwhelmed and is unable to process this fat as quickly as necessary, leading to a build up of fat in the liver, which interferes with normal liver function. All these secondary complications can be fatal if not treated quickly.
Cheetahs are successful in about 50-70% of their hunts, often relying on their incredible speed and agility to catch prey such as gazelles and impalas. They have a high success rate compared to other big cats due to their specialized hunting techniques and adaptations for speed.
The success rate of tennis elbow surgery is generally high, with about 80-90 of patients experiencing significant improvement in symptoms and function after the procedure.
According to a study, the lap band success rate is about 60% for sustained weight loss after 3 years. The success rate declined to about 35% after 8 to 9 years.
I have not had the surgery at this time. But would like to hear from someone who has had the Labyrinthectomy done and the results. What about balance after the surgery?
The survival rate is higher than cadaveric donor survival rates.
The survival rate for cats undergoing surgery for intestinal blockage is generally high, with studies showing a success rate of around 90 or higher.
The success rate for retinal reattachment surgery is about 85-90%. However, the success rate may vary depending on the severity and underlying cause of the retinal detachment. It is important to discuss your specific situation and prognosis with your eye doctor.
The success rate of gender reassignment surgery varies depending on the individual and the specific procedure. Overall, research suggests that the majority of individuals who undergo gender reassignment surgery report improved quality of life and satisfaction with their gender identity. However, it is important to note that success can be subjective and may vary from person to person.
With thoracic duct ligation, the success rate for both dogs and cats being treated for chylothorax is anywhere from 40-60 percent. When TDL and pericardectomy are combined, the success rate is as high as 80-100 percent.
Gastric bypass surgery is considered much more safe than other weight-loss surgical procedures, because the rate of success versus the rate of complications is very high.
Success, morbidity, and mortality rates are also dependent on the elective procedure itself. A physician and/or surgeon should be able to provide a patient with statistical information on success rates for a specific elective surgery.
The success rate of cat intestinal blockage surgery is generally high, with most cats recovering well after the procedure. However, the outcome can vary depending on the severity of the blockage and the overall health of the cat. It is important to consult with a veterinarian for specific information about your cat's individual case.
According to the National Eye Institute, sclerostomy is 80-90% effective in lowering intraocular pressure. The success rate is highest in patients who have not had previous eye surgery.
