The cat is obviously homeless. But just to make sure, remember to check if it has a collar. Is it scared of you? Start to build some trust between you and the cat. This helps. Feed it and it will be more friendly to you. Give it milk, pet it, etc. Your parents need proof that you have enough responsibility for a pet. So, after you have gained it's trust, start taking care of it. Feed it every day (tuna, buy some dry cat food, borrow some from your neighbors.... be creative!) and buy it cat toys (or make some- a feather, a tin foil ball on a string). Spend time with it out by the shed. If it follows you around, you know that now it likes you and trusts you (make sure that it doesn't just like you because you are giving it food, though). After a while, talk to your parents about having a pet again (not in a week, give it a month or two). Bring up that it trusts you and you have been using your own money/resources to take care of it, and that you have been giving it your care and time. Good Luck!
Stray cats are a problem because they kill song birds.
A stray animal is one that is not cared for by a person. A dog is a furry quadruped. There are stray dogs, but not all dogs are strays, and not all strays are dogs.
A stray calf is also known as a "lost calf" or a "wanderer calf."

No. Any pet needs to be from registered parents in order to be registered. Being a stray you have no way to tell if it is purebred.

In the city of Phoenix, Arizona, it is not illegal to feed stray cats. However, if you do feed them, the city considers them to belong to you and you will become responsible for them.
Actually, all people should be responsible for stray animals. If there is one in your area, call the nearest animal control to pick up the animal. It is better for all that this animal is taken care of properly. Since the HOA is responsible for maintaining the quality of life in the community it may be responsible for the removal of stray animals or for notifying a member if their pet is often running around loose. You could contact the association board or manager to report a stray or an unsupervised animal. However, reporting it to the local animal control may provide quicker results.
A homeless dog is a stray
Too many. If we had responsible pet owners, and if more people cared about their pets then the stray population could be greatly decreased. It sucks that there are people in this world that don't care about their pets.
Well stray animals are usually abondoned by the parents or abused or neglected by their former owners so sometimes they wind up with no owner because they are at a shelter waiting for a home right at this minute!
If your neighbor is feeding stray cats, you can try talking to them about the potential consequences, such as attracting more strays or causing a nuisance. You can also suggest contacting a local animal shelter or rescue organization for help in managing the stray cat population in a safe and responsible way.
