A surprisingly large number of movies have cats in them. Of course, there are the Garfield movies. A cat had a bit part in The Matrix. The villain Blofeld in at least two James Bond movies had a pet cat. Many of the Harry Potter movies featured a cat, named Crookshanks. They are very common in real life, and so tend to be common also in the movies.
