Yes! they are very sweet but you do have to feed them and clean their cage. It is tough but they have wonderful personalities! if you don't want a Guinea pig i suggest getting a Betta fish. They are fun easy to take care of and live a long time!

∙ 13y agoYes it is!!! My Daughter is 8 and has had her guinea pig for 3 months. As long as the child knows that she/he will have to play with the pig daily make sure it has food and water and clean the cage at least once a month. A 10 year old child is the perfect age.
