What age do Rex rabbits need to be to become pregnant?

Rex rabbits (and Mini Rex rabbits) should be mature before breeding. About six months is a good age to breed rex rabbits. Be sure you take the female to the buck's cage, not the buck to the doe's cage. You will get the desired result a lot faster and more accurately.

What is the best age for your rabbits to have babies?

After six months. Before is harmful. For small breeds its six months, but for giants its 7months, and they must have their first litter by 1yr of age (if you are thinking of breeding) or they will have very hard deliveries in the future, and may die. Rabbits should be 6 months old or reach mature body weight before they are bred. Giant breeds are better off being bred at 7 or 8 months. The reason you breed before 1 year is because the does will build up fat around their fallopian tubes and that will make it hard or impossible to breed and if she does get pregnant will create a hard delivery.

Where did the flemish giant breed of rabbit originated?

Flemish giants, when not as house pets, are typically used to show for 4H projects. They are not desirable as typical meat rabbits due to their bone mass at the fryer age, but they are desirable as roasting rabbits when raised to at least 6 months.

How old is a rabbit when it stops breeding?

Female generally stop breeding around the age of 9 months. That is not right at all! i do not quite know at what age they stop breeding but i know for a fact that it is not 9 months because during that age they are most willing to breed. i would guess that you should stop breeding a Doe at around two years of age!

How old do rabbits have to be to get pregnant?

rabbits can get pregnant at round three months but it is not recommended as the doe is still very young and will no be able to look after the rabbit or could die. Breeding a rabbit from 6monthes on-words is better as she will have matured, but if a doe has not given birth before she is around 1 and a HALF years old she will have problems giving birth and may need help taking the baby out.
