This contributor lived in Florida for almost 40 years, and he has known them to eat ducks and dogs.
- If the alligator is a pet, it will probably eat any kind of meat, but watch your hand when you feed it because the alligator does not know the difference, and it may bite the hand which feeds it accidentally. Alligators seem to prefer their meat ripened, but they will take it fresh if they are hungry. As reptiles are cold-blooded, they will go many days without eating and do not become hungry every day as warmblooded animals do.
