CORRECT ANSWER:

An elephant's trunk is used for breathing, smelling, grasping food and carrying it to the elephant's matter, and siphoning up water so that the elephant can drink.

An elephant's trunk is tactile and very sensitive. They use it for communication and to stroke and show affection toward each other.

They use their trunk to reach things that are out of reach of their mouths.

An elephant trunk also comes in handy for sucking in and blowing out water during bathing time, and sucking in and blowing out dust for a dustbath.

Finally, an elephant can, and has been known to, use its trunk as a weapon. It carries a lethal punch when used to strike another animal.
