Hamsters can eat about anything
but you shouldn't feed it just about anything.
Healthy diet mainly consists of Seeds, Pellets, Fruits, Vegetables and Berries.
Seeds and pellets are the dry food, which is a must for every hamster...they are found in Hamster mix, or as Budgie food (yes, you can feed hamsters the Budgie food as well)..and Sunflower seeds are good but too much of it will cause health problems.
Sunflower seeds should be used as treats, ie, you should feed it around twice a week only.
Vegetables such as Broccoli, Cucumber, Carrots are good...but not all vegetables are suitable, such as potatoes, cauliflower, etc.
Too much of green vegetables can also cause diarrhea, so the amount given to the hamster should be limited.
Fruits are hamster's favorites!
They can eat apples, bananas, grapes, etc. Just like vegetables, not all fruits are recommended, neither fruits should be fed all the time, once a week is more than enough.
Berries are good too.
Cherries are great, but beware of tomatoes, they are very bad, and harmful for hamsters.
A healthy diet should consist of Corn. Corn is good for their hair/fur, so it is essential for their daily diet.
Most of these are available at the pet stores as hamster food, there are hamster food that are a mixture of all the healthy diet as cubes, rings, hamsters are really picky, so feeding the cubes are good because they will be getting all the healthy nutrients at once, but some hamsters do not like the cubes/rolls, so hamster mix are the best.
The funny part, hamsters eat their feces as well, but just to digest what was not digested before.
