By locking the hen up. the hen can bound to its egg I dont think locking them up will help at all. just scare the life out of them. You can not help a egg bound hen, we have had 5 and unfortanatly all 5 have died. You can't really even see it coming or happening. You can help an egg bound hen. There are many different methods. try steaming its bottom but be careful not to burn it.
A hen that is 5 month old is called a pullet. She is generally not as large as the full grown hen, usually slimmer, and her comb and wattles may not be full sized yet. Here is a website that will show you the progression from Hatch to 1 year.
At sexual maturity (5 months more or less) there is a definite difference between the larger, more colorful rooster and the smaller, muted hen. Some roosters will develop green feathers, which you will not see in the hen. Also they have a different feather pattern with "saddles", "manes" and the striking tail. And then there is the crowing, which may begin earlier than 22 weeks. Now be aware of one thing. Many roosters, particularly if there is more than one in the flock, will not show the feathering until 7 or 9 or even 12 months. I have had that happen many times over the last 35 years. I really thought I had more hens, wondered where the eggs were, and suddenly my favorite hen turns into a rooster. And I have also had "hen feathered" roosters, which is very confusing. Genetically, they just don't have the "show". I don't realize they are "hen feathered" until I see them mounting and successfully inseminating a hen.
It varies for each chicken. On average between 8 and 15 eggs will fit under a hen. Some hens go way overboard and gather 20 or more. I had a bantam Araucana try to hatch 23 at one time. She was not successful and only 5 directly under her made it to full hatch. There really is no set number, every brood hen makes that call as she collects. Many hens will not just use her own eggs, they will brood the eggs from any hen who lays in or near her nest.

The Cornish hen, or Cornish Game Hen is actually a small chicken. The primary difference between a Cornish hen and a chicken is the age at which they are processed. Cornish hens are typically butchered around 5-6 weeks, and under 2 pounds in weight. Fryer chickens are processed around 13 weeks of age.
Most likely you can by a French hen in France obviously but also search for local breeders. In your area.

Well, there are a few key differences between the two. One is negative, one positive. 1 happens to be greater than -5, but the difference between the two numbers is 6; it takes five to get from -5 to zero (-5+5=0) and another one to get to 1 (0+1=1). 5+1=6
