In North America egg carton materials vary with Styrofoam, cardboard and clear plastic cartons used. The most popular carton is the cardboard type and those hold 12 large eggs. Each container for large eggs is a standard size. They measure
12 inches long, 4 inches wide and 2 ¾ inches deep.

I didn't open my carton of eggs since I bought it 2 weeks ago. When I did finally want some eggs I found that they were all covered in raw egg. I washed every single egg, and none of them were cracked which leads me to assume that an egg cracked at the store and a new one put in its place, but the raw egg was not cleaned out of the carton. It did not smell rancid at all (no smell actually), but I am wondering if the eggs are safe to eat as they have been sitting in raw egg for over 2 weeks now. Side note, some of the eggs I washed had darkened where the raw egg was touching them.
The mouth is enormously distensible and the teeth are greatly reduced to accommodate a bird's egg as large as a chicken's. Ventral spines on the neck vertebrae extend into the esophagus and serve to break the eggshell. Contents of the egg are squeezed from the shell, and the crushed shell is regurgitated.

These are called blood spots. Blood spots are the result of broken capillaries in the reproductive system. When a capillary ruptures, a drop of blood leaks out and becomes part of the egg. The presence of a blood spot does not mean the egg is fertile or that an embryo is beginning to form. Egg processors try to identify and remove all eggs containing blood spots before eggs go into the carton. Occasionally one is missed, but if the blood spot is small, it can be removed and the egg used. They are harmless and do not mean the egg is inedible. Small ones disappear when you are cooking the egg. Some people pick them out with a spoon before cooking.
Wine is to cask as egg is to carton.
An egg container is commonly referred to as an egg carton.
The chances of finding a double yolk egg when cracking open an egg from a carton are about 1 in every 1000 eggs.
An empty egg carton typically weighs around 1-2 ounces, while a full egg carton with a dozen eggs can weigh about 1.5-2 pounds, depending on the size and grade of the eggs.

Six eggs x two eggs (or twelve x two) in an egg carton is far more stable than other arrangements. A carton of eggs arranged four x three would be unwieldy to handle and store, and result in more frequent breakages. Four x two would be a good size for consumers who don't use eggs much, but it isn't an easily marketable size. Where I live you do sometimes see twelve x twelve cartons, but they're tricky to handle.
If the dimensions are in cm then: 4.5*4.5*7.5= 151.875 cubic meters Which seems to be a very large carton and even bigger if the dimensions were in meters
Egg cartons are made from cardboard, foam and plastic depending on the needs of the egg supplier.
