"sutures"
All bones of skull are flat bones, which are frontal, parietal, ocipital, temporal bones, sphenoid, ethmoid, zygomatic.
A horse's body has approximately 205 bones, including the skull, vertebrae, ribs, limbs, and tail bones. Key bones include the skull, scapula, humerus, radius, ulna, femur, tibia, fibula, and various bones in the hoof.
The sternum of a horse has 54 sternebrae, and a 205 bones all together. Horses also have forelimbs and hind limbs that connect to the vertebrae. 60% of the names for the horse bone are the same as the human name.
The largest crocodile species in the world, sometimes called the 'super croc' has 250 bones, not including the skull. Smaller species have fewer bones.
Ball pythons have bones just like every other snake. Their skeletons are primarily made up of the skull, vertebrae, and ribs. The number of bones is based on the size of the snake and can range from 400 to 1,200.
coronal sutures
These lines are called sutures. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_skull
It is the back bone
The skull is made up of eight flat bones which are joined closely . These zig-zag lines one finds on the human skull are immovable joints tightly packed between cranial bones which forms the human skull.
Some bones fuse together (as in the skull), but most have some sort of connective tissue.
If you are referring to what I think you are, those "zig zag lines" are called cross bones.
The occipital bone at the base of the skull articulates with the atlas (C1) of the spine. The other bones that connect to the vertebral column are the 12 pairs of ribs.
Synarthroses are joints that do not move, such as those that connect the bones of the skull.
suturesutureThe part of the skull that is a example of an immovable fibrous joint would be a suture.
The cranial sutures are fibrous joints, also known as synarthroses.
The bond at the base of the skull is called the basilar suture, which is the point where the basioccipital bone and basisphenoid bone connect. It helps to stabilize and support the bones of the skull.
Spaces between skull bones that have not ossified usually occur from birth to age two and are called fontanels. By age two, the fontanels close and become sutures.
