Wild pigs are omnivorous animals and therefore they eat both plants as well as animals. Plants are the main diet for the wild pigs, with palmetto and acorn being their most preferred. The wild pig also eats small vertebrates and invertebrates that it can find.

Wild pigs eat just about anything that they can find, including nuts, roots, garbage, insects, berries, small reptiles, grass, carrion and tubers.
