The bird you may be looking for could be a House Finch.The egg's appearance may be similar to this description"Typically oval, smooth shell, slight gloss, pale bluish white/green with sparing, delicate black (or dark brown or olive) spots/dots, speckles or streaks on the large end of the egg, forming a fine, loose ring. Occasionally eggs are unmarked. Length may vary."
The only bird I can think of that lays light blue, speckled eggs is a Robin. :)

a finch can come as one couler or it can come in rainbow but when its rainbow you can notice if the bird is a girl or boy because the bright coulerd one would usually be the boy and the paild rainbow type is usually the girl :)

You can tell by the materials used, the shaping and even the eggs that are in the nest. e.g. a cape warbler has a spherical nest that's weaved with grass and has white eggs with brown speckles
