See the links below. If it's small and looks like these, it's a robin's egg.

Actually, it's most likely a Northern Mockingbird

This description isn't exact enough. There are several birds that these eggs could belong to. One possibility is the Killdeer.

A huge variety of birds lay speckled eggs. These include song birds like the house wren, the nuthatch, and the eastern bluebird along with the house sparrow.

Is it possible that a female cardinal would steal the nest of another bird with blue eggs and brown specks already in it?

Not in cardinals. In this case, the speckled egg likely belongs to a cowbird--this is a brood parasite species which will lay its eggs in other birds' nests, and allow the host bird to raise their young for them. The white eggs belong to the host species.

No. One bird is a brood parasite. It lays eggs in the nests of other birds. Its babies are larger and more aggressive, so the other bird's babies die. If you are in North America, the brood parasite was a Brown-headed Cowbird, and the eggs were tan and speckled.

Is there such a thing as green eggs?

The actual contents of the eggs are not green; the green eggs are produced by Araucana hens and Ameraucana hens. Unlike white and brown eggs, the green pigment (color) goes all the way through to the inside of the shell. With brown eggs, when you crack them open, the brown color is only on the outside of the shell. With Araucana eggs, when you crack them open, the green is on the inside of the shell also. You can view green and blue eggs on my bio page.
