The mouth because it has to eat it and it grabs it with its mouth after it finds it food by using its tongue to smell and by sensing vibration in the floor. Many snakes will also use their muscular bodies to kill their prey, a process known as constriction.
Think about birds...is there just one way to fly? No. Some glide, some hover like hummingbirds and some don't fly at all like penguins. Snakes are the same and there are lots of different ways they crawl. Being without limbs, snakes are kind of an all-in-one body part animal. The different ways they move depend on where they are and what species it is. Most snakes bend their body into an S shape and push off of the 'elbow' bendy parts to move forward. All snakes can swim and when they do, they look like very long fish or eels. Large, heavy-bodied vipers or pythons use a sort of 'caterpillar' locomotion where you can actually see their belly lift up and inch forward. Snakes that live in the hot sand lift up the front part of their body and throw it sideways like a lasso in a 'sidewinding' motion. Crawling in trees can be done by wrapping around limbs or even pushing in between bark to grip. But one way or another, all snakes move by wiggling their whole body.
One special part of a snake is the jacobsons organ which helps the snake to smell. The tongue flicks and sends info to the jacobsons organ then on to the brain

A snake cannot hear. It is deaf. It uses vibration instead. Snakes don't have ear parts on the outside of their heads. But they do have ear parts inside. Sounds travel into the snake's body through muscle to bones in the jaws. These bones are next to the inside ear parts.
